Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are an important part of many studies.
They are used for mapping, analysis, and storing information. Currently
their is no one data source for the Red River Basin. There are on-going
efforts that are trying to provide seam-less data for the Basin. One such
effort is the a grant from the
Federal Geographic Data Committee and GeoConnections Secretariat. In the
mean-time we will maintain links to available geospatial data for the Basin.
If you are aware of links to other data for the Basin, please let us know.
There has also been a Metadata Clearinghouse Node setup for the Red River Basin.
This metadata node can be search from:
LMIC's GeoGateway
or
FGDC metadata search interface. More information about metadata resources will
develop in the next couple of months. If your organization has metadata
for geospatial data specific to the Red River Basin, please let us know so we
can make it searchable through this clearinghouse node. Data is also
available for download from the
BasinViewer.
