Sen. Dayton Announces Funds for Roseau and Moorhead
[Excerpts from Sep. 5th Senator Mark Dayton News Release]
Senator Mark Dayton said today over $4 million has been approved for vital Minnesota projects, including funding for flood recovery in Roseau, affordable housing and improvements in criminal justice information systems.
The funds, included at Dayton's request, were approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee Thursday as part of two separate funding measures for fiscal year 2004. This is a $2.9 billion total increase with $1.57 billion over President Bush's requested amount. A vote on the Senate floor is expected later this month.
"I am confident the Senate will ensure these projects are included in the final version of the bill and I will work to ensure that they are retained in conference with the House," insisted Dayton. Projects funded include:
$187,500 Roseau Flood Recovery Funds - The funds will assist in flood recovery and rebuilding. Specifically, the city will use these funds for flood planning, residential and commercial buyouts, and residential and commercial infrastructure improvement efforts.
$500,000 City of Moorhead - The funds will support much-needed water infrastructure improvements.
