Committee Formed to Pursue Red River Research Corridor

[Excerpts from Nov. 10th Senator Dorgan Press Release]
Taking the next step toward the development of a high-tech research corridor in North Dakota's Red River Valley, U.S. Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) today announced the formation of a steering committee to guide his idea well into the future.

Members of the committee represent voices in business, higher education, and economic development from all regions of the state. They were selected for their expertise and commitment to creating an environment ripe for high-tech businesses and well-paying jobs in the state.

Senator Dorgan’s idea to create a research corridor in North Dakota is based on the concept that federally-sponsored, high-quality research often entices companies to relocate to areas with academic and commercial potential.

Dorgan convened a meeting in September at which interested parties discussed future steps toward the corridor, including the creation of this 35-member steering committee to lead the way. [See the full release for the list of committee members.]
